2/3 lb ground beef
1 cloves garlic, minced
1 T Teriyaki sauce
1 T minced parsley
½ t paprika
salt and pepper
2 thick slices red onion
4 slices Applewood smoked bacon
Crumbled blue cheese
1 heirloom tomato sliced
2 buns, cut in half and lightly toasted
Place beef into a large bowl and mix in first 6 ingredients. Season the mixture with salt and pepper and shape into two patties. Rub both sides of the onion slices with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. In a sauté pan, cook bacon until crispy, drain off excess fat and set aside.
Heat the BBQ high. Cook the onions on the grill for about 5-6 minutes per side. They should be nicely caramelized and pliable. Place burgers on the grill and cook 3-4 minutes flip and add the blue cheese. Cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium rare. Remove from grill and assemble and add condiments just the way you like it! Serves 2.
